Alfred Larimore passed away on June 7, 2024, at the age of 96. Born on September 27, 1927, in Orland Park, IL, Alfred was a farm boy who learned the values of hard work and perseverance during the challenging times of the Great Depression.

Growing up with a deep passion for technology and communication, Alfred found great joy in HAM Radio and spent hours tracking satellites in the night sky. His love for these pursuits continued reflected his curiosity and innovative spirit.

Alfred's sense of duty led him to serve his country, first in the US Army as a Staff Sergeant and later in the US Navy in Radio Operations. His service was a testament to his strong character and commitment to the nation.

After his military tenure, Alfred embarked on a successful career with IBM, where he utilized his skills and knowledge to become a Senior Engineer. His contributions to the computer industry were significant, and his legacy in the field remains an inspiration to many.

In his retirement, Alfred cherished spending time with his family. His love and wisdom will forever be treasured by those who knew him best.

Aflred is survived by his loving sons Frederick (Mary) Larimore of California and Michael (the late Arleen) Larimore of Joliet; and cherished grandchildren Christopher (Kimberly) Larimore, Jon, Helen. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Eleanor E. Larimore, nee Elliott; his parents Raymond and Ruth Larimore; and brothers, Wesley and Harold.
