Adolph “Jim” Markl, Navy Veteran of the Viet Nam Era, 75, of Morris, passed away Monday, March 27th following an extended illness. He was born in Chicago on December 11, 1947 to the late Adolph N. and Doris Markl. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Glorpha Markl (nee Love); Loving brother of Cindy (Late Joseph) Riha and Carolyn (David) Barenberg; Dear Brother-In-Law to Gail Love and Gilford Love. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a Step-son, Vince Berry and brother-in-laws, Garland Love and Gaylord Love. Jim graduated from Lincolnway High School in 1966. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1968 to 1971. There he served on the USS Swordfish submarine. Following his discharge from the service, he went to work for IBM as a computer technician. He worked there for about 8 years before leaving to work for the US Government. Both these jobs gave him the opportunity to travel the world! Following his retirement, he worked in the printing business. Jim always spoke of his two proudest moments in life – the first being his Wedding to Glorpha, and his second, almost as dear to him, being named “Athlete of the Year” at Lincolnway High School his Senior year! Visitation will be Monday, April 3rd, 8:30 AM until time of service at 9:30 AM at Ferrari Funeral Home, 1044 Ferrari Drive in Coal City. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
