Charles Vito, 90, of Chicago, passed away peacefully at the Cottages of New Lenox on Monday, March 9th, 2020. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to the late Jeanette (nee Jamrog). He is survived by his loving son of Joseph (Diane) Vito of Mokena; Cherished grandchildren, Nicholas (Thuong), Mark, and Oliva Vito; Fond sister Rosemary (Late Gus) Pusateri, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Beatrice (nee Kwitkowski); siblings, Johnny (Late Dottie) Vito, Frank Vito, Albert Vito, James (Late Carol) Vito, Louise (Late Clarence) Heisner, Elizabeth (Late Max) Haass, Dorothy (Late George) Smith, Evelyn “Fran” (Late James) Cross, and Agnes “Toni” (Late Frank) Houdek. He was employed by Roadway Trucking from January,1951 until his retirement in December,1989; and was a member of Teamsters Local #710. Charles enjoyed fishing, horse racing, and occasionally a little gambling! In keeping with his wishes, private cremation rites have been accorded. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on Monday, June 22nd, 2020 at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice in Charles memory would be appreciated.
