Beloved wife of the late Sherrill Leon Jeffrey; Loving mother of Donna Jeffrey, Robert Jeffrey, Carla (late Alan Ross) Hunter, and Jay (Denise) Jeffrey; Cherished grandmother of Shannon, Amanda, Ryan, Jill and Nicole; Great-grandmother of Reece, Logan and Grant; Dear sister of Marcella Shelby, Sue Leslie, Jean Callahan, late Audrey Haynes, late Bessie Pulley, late Kathern Smith, late Wilton Roofe, late Thomas Roofe, late Marshall Roofe, late Robert Roofe, and the late Leon Roofe; Devoted daughter to the late Edward and Amanda Roofe. In their early years, Claudine and Sherrill relocated their family from Missouri to Illinois. A true “country girl” at heart, Claudine loved to work in her garden and regularly canned fruits and vegetables for her family. She was a good cook, a hard worker, and understood the importance of taking care of others. An avid baseball fan since the mid-1960s, a dream was to see her favorite team win the pennant. That dream came true when her beloved Chicago Cubs won the World Series Championship in 2016. Claudine will be remembered for her sense of humor, her love of sharing stories, and for the many sacrifices she made throughout her life. She was a long-time member of Heritage Baptist Church in Frankfort. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 8th, from 9:30 AM until the time of her service at 11:30 AM at Heritage Baptist Church, 21739 S. LaGrange Rd., Frankfort. She will be laid to rest with her husband of sixty-three years, Sherrill, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Donna Jeffrey Special Needs Trust would be appreciated.
