Dennis M. McMahon

Dennis M. McMahon, 80, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Diana and the late Cheryl McMahon; Loving father of Kathleen Sedlacek, Denise (Milt) Padua, Patricia (Tom) Reddy, Jeffrey Michael (Susan) McMahon and Bryan Dennis (Kristen) McMahon; Step-father of Lisa Magura, Leslie (Alan) Jackman, and Lauren (David) Roberts; Cherished grandfather of 17; Great-grandfather of 14; Dear brother of Diane (Norman) McMahon-Berger, the late William and the late Terry (Lois) McMahon; Long time friend of John Shaw. Dennis worked a total of 63 years, beginning when he was 17 at Greyhound Bus Company where he stayed for 33 years. He rose to the Supervisor of the regional Ticket Agents traveling throughout Illinois and the surrounding States overseeing the Ticket Agents. He had been the head steward for the union at the time. Following the companies restructuring in the 1980’s, he left Greyhound and sold semi-trucks for a few years until health issues arose. It was around this time that his wife, Cheryl, passed away. Following his recuperation, Dennis moved to Diamond, Illinois and went to work for Schwan’s Company. After a few years there he met Diana at the company and they were wed in 2001. He continued with Schwan’s until 2010. He then went to work at the Manheim Chicago Auto Auction in Matteson where he worked until 2019. Due to Coronavirus Restrictions, private cremation rites will be accorded. The family will honor Dennis’s wishes with a Celebration of His Life Service to be announced at a later date.
