Patricia (nee Ring) Hartshorn

Patricia Ring was born in Estelline, SD, on March 27, 1942. She was the daughter of Ture and Gladys Ring of Bryant, SD. Patty attended Bryant Public Schools and graduated from there in 1960. While in school she played trumpet in the High School band, sang in the girls chorus and played piano for many of the special musical events. She graduated from Nettleton Business School in Sioux Falls, SD in 1962.

Patricia worked as a secretary in Sioux Falls, SD and later moved with her children to Joliet in 1974 where she worked as a medical transcriptionist at St. Joseph Hospital, retiring from there in 2008.

Patricia was married to her high school sweetheart, Richard Hartshorn, on April 17, 2010 in Joliet, IL. They are members of the First Congregational/UCC in Lockport, IL.

Mrs. Hartshorn devoted herself to her husband, children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her sisters, Darlene, Beverly, Roxanne and brother, Carly.

 Patty is survived by her husband, Richard; her children, Kristi Brouwer Frithsen (Mark), David Brouwer (Jody), Heidi Brouwer (Emad), and Erik Morgan (Sabrina); stepsons, Leif Morgan (Michelle) and Daniel Hartshorn; her brother James Ring (Marlene) and sister Dianne Ring Kirsch (DeWayne) of Sioux Falls, SD; Grandchildren, Amanda, Steven, Joseph, Jacob, Lexi, Karli, Caleb, Logan, Landon, Chloe, Marissa, and Lilly; and by one great granddaughter, Maxine.
