Steven "Mickey" Piwnicki

March 26, 1941 — December 7, 2022

Steven M. “Mickey” Piwnicki, 81, of Manhattan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7th. Cherished son of the late Stephen J. and Anita M. Piwnicki; Devoted brother of Stef Ingram, David (Bobbie) Piwnicki, late Ronn (Karen) Piwnicki and Denise (Harry) Sikma; and had many loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Never being married, he was very close to his nieces and nephews, who he truly treated as if they were his own children. Mickey was very fortunate to have a loving family to care for him throughout his many lifetime health challenges. He was a member of the New Life Church in New Lenox. In his younger years, he had worked at the Government Printing Office in the downtown Post Office with the maintenance department. His favorite actress of all time was Farrah Fawcett! At family weddings and get togethers he was always called upon to perform his famous Twist! He was a very kind, gentle and soft-spoken individual all his life and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Private cremation rites have be accorded. A Memorial Interment Service will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Road, Elwood, IL on Wednesday, April 12th, 2023 at 12:00 Noon. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral staging area at the cemetery at 11:30 AM for procession to the Committal Shelter and Service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to Autism Society of America, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 305, Rockville, MD 20852 would be appreciated.
