Thomas H Kurgan

Thomas H. Kurgan Jr., age 77, of Park Forest, Illinois passed away on Saturday May 20,2023.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Janice M. Kurgan.  Also preceding him in death are his daughters Lisa Eileen Kurgan Brudd  and Kristen Marie Kurgan.  He is survived by his granddaughter Faith Victoria Kozora and son-in-law Stephen Brudd.

Also surviving are his sisters Karen (Al) Cleve, Beverly (Paul) Reed and Mavis (John) Arnett, along with other family members including nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Tom was born to his loving parents Thomas and Lillian Kurgan.  Tom was raised in the Roseland area of Chicago and graduated from Fenger High School.  He was a member of the United States Army and served in Viet Nam.  Tom was married to Janice in 1979 and they raised their family in Park Forest, Illinois. He was employed by Firestone Tire Service.

A lifelong White Sox fan, Tom watched all types of sports and enjoyed going to Balmoral Park for harness racing. He loved being with animals, having numerous pets in his home over the years as well as feeding the birds outside his house. Tom enjoyed vacation trips with family to numerous destinations including Indiana Beach, Wisconsin Dells and Disney World.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
